St Clemens ruin – a magical place
During the Middle Ages there were at least 16 churches in Visby. Only one of these, St. Mary’s Cathedral, is still in use and 13 others are left in ruins. The ruin of St. Clemens is one of the largest and best preserved.
Once you step in through the portal it feels as though time is standing still.
The grey 13th-century walls, the green grass and the blue sky all create a unique space of light. All outside reminders of everyday activity disappear. This is a perfect place to celebrate the high feasts of life: baptisms and weddings.
St. Clemens ruin has wonderful acoustics and here our wish is to have many concerts sized to suit the mood of the ruin.
This is also a good place to gather for other events which can be enhanced by this unique and special space.
